determine your grant amount based on income and household size. for example, a family household size of four is eligible if their total annual household income does not exceed $156,940

city grant based on buyers’ AMI and neighborhood residency

if you reside in West Humboldt Park and you buy an Inherent Home in this neighborhood, you receive the benefit of the higher tier grant amount illustrated in the first two columns designated for neighborhood residents. notice the minimum grant amount offered is $50k whereas the maximum grant amount offered is $100k.

  • the building neighborhood and affordable homes (BNAH) down payment assistance program provides forgivable grants to qualified buyers. the grant aims to promote homeownership of newly constructed homes on city owned parcels. visit the city’s website to start your application.

  • The Cook County Land Bank has launched a few home buyer initiatives to help break down barriers to homeownership and help transform communities. Visit their website to learn more.

  • The Chicago Housing Authority's Homeownership Program offers down payment assistance to first-time homebuyers who meet the eligibility requirements. Visit their website to learn more.

  • We’ve partnered with Neighborhood Lending Services (NLS) to help first-time home buyers in need with closing costs- this $2,000 grant is stackable and forgivable and can help buyers make it to the finish line! Buyers under contract to purchase an Inherent home must complete a grant application with NLS.
